Before beginning our journey with Marrying Later in Life, my background and degree was in Nutrition as a Registered Dietician with a Masters in Public Health.
My interest has always been in Nutrition and how it affects aging. I have always practiced what I preached, and I believe I have sustained many benefits for my skin and health, Now, we want to share those tips with you,
It is never too late to begin a healthy eating and exercise program for your skin and your body’s health.
You are what you eat. Not only with the way your body functions, but also the way your skin looks and how it ages. Using basic sunscreens, moisturizers, toners and other essential cleansers are important for keeping your skin healthy, but what foods and nutrients you eat each day are also important.
As a novice, how do you know you are getting all the nutrition your body needs each day from the foods you eat or to have healthy glowing skin?
According to the American Dietetics Association, it is important to eat a balanced diet of natural whole foods. Today, the recommended allowances are:
*40-60% of complex carbohydrates
*20-30% lean protein
*10-20% mono & polyunsaturated fats
Note that these basic recommendation also depend on other factors such as your exercise routine, how you metabolize food and what your health challenges maybe. The later requires a specialist to work with those challenges to create the best way of life diet plan for you.
So what does this all mean to you? Come back again later in the week for our tips and recommendations to help keep you healthy and aging too quickly.
