I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but there are a lot of Faux Fur coats out there!
First .. What is Faux Fur? Faux fur is made out of synthetic fibers to resemble fur. Per Wikipedia, it was first introduced in 1929 and has been commercially available since the 1950’s. It really became popular when animal rights groups went after the real fur clothing and people started to choose the alternative in faux fur.
Is Faux Fur warm? FurSource states that a faux fur coat is not as warm as the real thing, so if you’re looking for warmth, check what kind of lining the coat has. That will make the all the difference in the warmth of the coat. Read “Real Fur vs Faux Fur” at – FurSource.

My daughter just bought one at Gap and loves it! The “Oversize faux-fur jacket” – it might work for a wedding as well!
How do you care for your beautiful new faux fur coat? Check the directions that came with the coat or from the maker. You can wash it in the washing machine set on delicate, cold water and a mild detergent.
