We talked about how to prevent your shoes from hurting on your wedding day in an earlier post this month. If you missed it, here is the link. http://www.marryinglaterinlife.com/how-to-prevent-y…rting-on- Now we are attacking another shoe challenge of keeping your heels from slipping out of your shoes. This seems to be a common problem for me as I have very thin back ankles and one foot is of course bigger than the other. How lucky can one be!
So here are some simple solutions I have tried that have worked and saved me from tripping.
Hairspray is an amazing and invisible tackifier. Spray it in your shoe and slide your foot in before it dries. I swear by this method! You can also try a spray-on baseball bat tack, but that isn’t as common in everyone’s household unless you have a little leader under your roof.
Another winner for me! I had read that Jessica Alba relies on double-sided tape to prevent her heels from slipping out of her shoes. An extremely important solution when gliding down the red carpet!
A great idea for waterproofing your shoes, beeswax can also be used to stop your feet from slipping out of shoes. Simply rub beeswax on the inside of the heel. It will be similar to hairspray but thicker.
Lambs wool is used by ballet dancers to protect their toes when dancing in pointe shoes. It helps to take up space in the toe box (or front of the shoe) and ‘push’ the foot back into the heel. It’s best to use loose lambs wool so you can mold it to fit your foot and shoe perfectly.
Any of these methods will keep your heels from slipping out of your shoes when prancing down the aisle, dancing at your reception or the photographer taking pictures of both of you walking away? Have you tried any of these methods? Do you have other ideas on how to prevent your heels from slipping out of your shoes? Hit reply and let me know! I’d love to hear from you. Enjoy and please come back soon!
