The Origami Crane …
I recently got out my old origami childhood book and after looking through it, I immediately proceeded to Pinterest to print out some origami instructions for my grandson and I to make. Needless to say, my Pinterest origami board has been growing and growing with more and more ideas.
So .. speaking about origami and you being on a site all about weddings, here is a story of the origami crane. An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by the gods. Some stories believe you will be granted happiness and eternal luck. The crane in Japan is one of the mystical or holy creatures and is said to live a thousand years. That is why 1000 cranes are made, one for each year. A thousand origami paper cranes are traditionally given as a wedding gift by the father, who is wishing a thousand years of happiness and prosperity to the couple. (Wikipedia)
The strings of cranes make for a beautiful backdrop for pictures.
