Every day I wake up and I am thankful for so many things.
What I’m Thankful For –
My family! Nothing beats having family that you love and loves you back.
The beautiful place I live – everyone has beauty where they live, they just need to find it sometimes.
That my knee is bending a bit better than yesterday!
That my back didn’t hurt when I got out of bed!
It is going to be a nice sunny warm day and my favorite shorts are clean!
There is left over turkey for my lunch from our pre-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving dinner
My husband loves his job .. way better than if he doesn’t!
The cat didn’t throw up on the carpet and I don’t have to clean it up! Cat owners will be able to understand how important this one is!
My car has gas in it.
There is already Christmas music on and it’s not even Thanksgiving! I’m trying to get in the spirit by Black Friday and it’s working thanks to 96.5.
That my dog Max is always happy to see me.
That I have a sense of humor and in my head I’m laughing at all the things I could list here but have to hold back! ha ha
How I Show I’m Thankful –
How do I do this? Maybe I don’t complain, I have a happy smile on my face when I greet others saying good morning first! Maybe it’s just that when you’re thankful – you’re happy, like this sign says –
Are you the “My cup is half empty” or are you “My cup is half full” type of person? If you are the “Half Empty” type, try looking at the things you could be thankful for. Everyone has different things to be thankful for. Yours might be hiding and you just need to look harder. Once you see one thing I bet you’ll start seeing others. What is the difference between being thankful and grateful?
Thankful – pleased and relieved or expressing gratitude and relief
Grateful – feeling or showing an appreciation of kindness, thankful
They overlap a bit but when you see what you are thankful for, let’s say a good friend, then be grateful for them. And tell them how thankful and grateful you are to have such a good friend in your life. I had a client years back that said every morning you should wake up and find one thing to be grateful for. I think about that almost every day and I think about the things I am grateful for. People need to hear that there is someone who is thankful and grateful that they are in their life. Don’t be afraid to show it in a compliment, a smile, a helping hand. Smiles are contagious and yes, so are sneezes, but if you can start the day with a smile and spread it outward, I bet your day will go from ho-hum to pretty darn good!
What are some things you are thankful for? Please help add to the list of things to be thankful for and leave us a comment! We’d love to hear from you!
